The page proofs will be reviewed for grammar, punctuation, subject-verb agreement, parallelisms, spelling, verb tenses, tone, sentence structure, misplaced modifiers, phraseology, and more.

Proofreading is usually performed on a document that has already been edited as a final step prior to publication. Bad breaks, inconsistencies, and errors will be queried or corrected as appropriate.

Experience in proofreading include books, such as religion and philosophy; magazines, such as engineering and carpentry; and newsletters, such as law.

Fees for proofreading are generally $20-$30 per hour.
